AKG CD1-56 case-drain oil cooler

The AKG CD1-56 is a CD-series hydraulic case-drain cooler designed to mount behind a TEFC motor with frame 56. Adjustable feet and the specified motor plate allow the cooler to use the motor air stream without a separate electric fan drive.

The aluminium tube-and-fin cooler has a steel shroud, four SAE -16 O-ring-boss oil ports and a SAE -8 vent port. The published external air-flow reference is 35 cfm. Performance is based on a typical 1800 rpm TEFC motor and changes with the motor manufacturer, speed and power. A motor shown in the series illustration is an installation example and is not included.

The manufacturer lists CD1-56 explicitly in the performance table and provides the corresponding dimensions. The standard designation is preserved without adding optional NPT adapters. The pressure and temperature limits are converted from the published 232 psi and 250°F; 15.99 bar is rounded conservatively. Oil volume and dry weight are approximate catalogue values.
